Use the spec pages below to help you understand what features this product has. The Houser Anti Vibe Steering Stem for the Yamaha YFZ450 is one of the strongest stems on the market today. The spline on the bottom of our steering stem is made from pre heat treated material and rolled for maximum strength. The spline on our steering stem is longer than the spline on the stock steering stem, so you have the opportunity to use our steering stem bottom. Our steering stem bottom lowers the tie rod ends to help eliminate some of the bump steer. The price of the steering stem does not include the Houser Billet Handle Bar Clamp. The stock Handle Bar Clamp will not work with our anti vibe steering stem! So if you do not have a Houser handle bar clamp, you will need to purchase one at this time. Our handle bar clamps come in two different sizes, 7/8” which is the diameter of your stock handle bars, 1 1/8”, which is the diameter of a Tag or Pro Taper handle bar. We use the same steering stems for the 2003-05 models as the 2006 model. The only difference is the wording. On the 2006 model, the stock steering stem is 9/16” taller than the 2003-05 models. The seat, foot pegs and everything else is still the same on each ATV. We offer two different heights of steering stems a +1” on the 2003-05 models, which equals +3/16” on the 2006 model, and a +2” on the 2003-05 models, which equals +1 3/16” for the 2006 model. We can’t manufacture a +0” steering stem for the 2003-05 models, or a +9/16” steering stem for the 2006 model, because the anti vibe part of our stem hits the gas tank and prevents the ATV from fully steering. These heights are an exact measurement from the stock steering stem. For example, if you are running a stock steering stem for the 2003-05 models, with stock handle bars, and would like the steering stem to be 1” taller, buy our +1” Steering Stem. We can’t tell you what steering stem to buy, but hopefully we can help you make your decision based on our previous sales. Customers who run Tag or Pro Taper CR High Bend handle bars usually use a +1” Steering Stem (MX or TT Races). Customers who run an oversize gas tank and sit down a lot when they ride usually use a +2” Steering Stem (Cross Country or Endurance Races).
